What’s in the Box: 2021-22 Panini Hoops Basketball

It’s officially 2022 and that means the year’s first releases are here. The biggest name among that group is Panini’s NBA Hoops Basketball. With the NBA entering its 75th season, we get our first look at the rookie class of 2021, some quality inserts that should definitely be on your radar, and new additions honoring the historic association and all who have been a part of it.

What To Expect

  • 8 Cards Per Pack
  • 24 Packs Per Box
  • 20 Boxes Per Case

Base Cards

Panini Hoops Basketball base cards got new designs for the year’s leadoff basketball release and that includes the Base Artist Proof parallels:

  • Silver (/199)
  • Green (/99)
  • Artist Proof (/25)
  • Artist Proof Gold (/10)
  • Artist Proof Black (1/1)

The most special thing about Hoops is that it’s the first release of the current basketball season, meaning it’s the first time rookies are pictured in their NBA team’s jerseys. For this reason, Hoops can be viewed as the truest rookie card out there.

In honor of the NBA’s 75th season and the NBA’s Anniversary team, we get a chance to pull some all-time greats who are currently building on their legacies like Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Davis (who is shown below) in the new Base NBA 75th Anniversary cards.

Fire Inserts ?

Second in the box, are the eye-popping inserts. Legends of the Ball, Prime Twine, High Voltage, Hipnotized all return, giving hoop fans of today and the past a chance to collect cards featuring NBA stars of all generations. Also, we have a new addition with Jam-Tastic making its debut.

Autos

Wrapping up Hoops are the hits everyone is looking for, as we have our autographs featuring Hot Signatures, Hot Signatures Rookies, Hoops Ink, or Rookie Ink. With 1 per box, you’ll land either a vet, rookie, or a retired hooper signature in one of the clean inserts mentioned. Of course, you’ll want to cross your fingers to grab a top rookie this season like the Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley, Raptors’ Scottie Barnes, or the Pistons’ Cade Cunningham.

If you are excited about this release as much as I am, then you are in luck. You can expect this release to be out this Friday, January 7 and I’m certain our awesome sellers on the Loupe app will be stocked and ready. So enjoy and feel free to tag us in your big hits on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
