You knew it was coming. Two weeks ago, we unveiled the Loupe Box. Earlier this morning, we announced the Loupe Box: Baseball Series 2. Everyone knew that other sports couldn’t be far behind.
Now that we’re deep into the NBA Conference Finals, it seems like the perfect time to drop the Loupe Box: Basketball Series 1. It’s mostly the same concept as the first two waves of baseball Loupe Boxes. There’s one high-end card inside each box, the the manufacturing run is limited to 100 of Basketball Series 1.
There’s a key difference, though: You aren’t guaranteed an autographed card in Basketball Series 1. However, if it’s not an auto, it’ll be a graded rookie card. That’s certainly not a bad tradeoff.
It’s all premium stuff but, just like the other Loupe Boxes, note that this is a chase product. That means there’s no guarantee each card will be valued right around what the Loupe Box costs. There’s an incredibly high ceiling, but that means not every box will be a banger. Think of it like Topps Archive and Panini One. The chase cards are amazing and very valuable, but every card is cool in its own way.
So, what are the biggest hits out of the Loupe Box: Basketball Series 1? We’re looking for stuff like a 1996 Kobe Bryant Topps rookie card with a PSA 9 grade; a 2018 Luka Doncic Donruss Optic Rated Rookie card with a PSA 10 grade; a 2013 Giannis Antetokounmpo Panini Rising Tide rookie auto; a 2018 Trae Young Contenders Optic rookie auto with a PSA 9 grade; and a 2017 Jayson Tatum NBA Hoops rookie auto numbered to 25 with a BGS 9 grade.
